I honor you, Hero, for you do not play to the crowd.
You play to your own soul.
An audience of one fills the house with its appreciation and applause.
Others follow you, and may attempt to emulate you,
but that is not why you are a hero.
Fame may smile upon you, or it may not.
The world may cheer your name, or you may be the unknown warrior
who rescued comrades in battle,
or taught a young girl how to shed tears of joy.
Whatever you did, you did not do for fame.
If you had, you would not be a Hero.
You are a Hero for your bold courageous inspired action.
– Jonathan Lockwood Huie
We are HEROS. We chose to follow the hypocratic oath and take care of our patients. As a result, we became targets for a greedy, corrupt, out-of-control government. Now we take on the task of working for our freedom, the freedom of our colleagues, and the protection of others who have not yet been attacked.
The pages available to the general population are general summaries of cases. More in-depth accounts, many written by the victim him or herself, are available to other professionals and their families that are members of DoC. Through their own personal stories it is my hope that other professionals will learn how to defend themselves against these illegal attacks.
If you are a professional interested in becoming a member of DoC to further the work to bring the need for this organization to an end, please go to Professional. If you are a medical professional that has already suffered an attack, go to Ambassador.
I want to be a hero, a small and good kind of hero,
even though I know heroes have very short lives.
– Boris Becker
A hero is someone who has given his life to something bigger than himself or something other than himself.
A hero is someone right who doesn’t change.
– George Foreman
We would like short descriptions of all the heroes in the field of pain management–both those that have been attacked, and those that practice with the constant fear of being attacked. If you have a person to add, please use the Contact Us page to send us the information and we will add it.
