When has simply owning a legitimate business sent people to prison for life? Now—in these illegal attacks on pain management clinics by the government for money. On August 27, 2015, Barbara Lang, a.k.a. “Aunt Bea,” 63, of Rossville, Ga., was sentenced 280 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Curtis L. Collier. The actual 25-day trial spanned almost 3 months. Ms. Lang was convicted of two counts of conspiring to distribute and dispense controlled substances, outside the scope of professional practice and not for a legitimate medical purpose; five counts of maintaining a premises for the purpose of distributing controlled substances; and fourteen counts of structuring financial transactions to evade reporting requirements.

Ms. Lang’s attorney, Bryan Hoss, said, “For those who don’t know, she’s 61 years old, has no criminal record, never sold a drug, signed a prescription or forged a prescription.  Ever.  She never examined any patient, altered any medical record, or inserted herself in the medical decision-making process.  She has zero medical training and has never been a nurse.

“To sentence this lady to 280 years is the most disheartening thing I’ve ever witnessed in my career.  It is the prime example of our government running wild over our rights. There were over 120 other doctors and nurse practitioners in Tennessee who prescribed these same patients the same or similar drugs.”

Lang also faces forfeitures of up to $4 million. That’s what these illegal attacks are about—MONEY, MONEY, MONEY.

 “We are very pleased with this very lengthy sentence given to this defendant, who disbursed these very addictive drugs to many people over a long period of time. Illegal opioid pain medication distribution organizations, such as this, contribute to an epidemic of addiction in the United States.  She will never be able to participate in the illegal distribution of prescription drugs again,” said U.S. Attorney Bill Killian.

What lies!!! Except for the part about being pleased with the sentence, because that probably means he will get a huge bonus, and maybe promotions someday. The law enforcement agencies whose jobs depend on these illegal attacks include: the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); IRS – Criminal Investigation; Tennessee Bureau of Investigation; Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office;  Chattanooga Police Department; Roane County Sheriff’s Department; and Rockwood Police Department.

The statement by Daniel R. Salter, Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Atlanta Division shows how the government is illegally using the Controlled Substance Act (CSA) to attack innocent civilians. He said “The dispensing of addictive prescription pain medication under the guise of a doctor’s care is …about greed and those involved in “pill mill” activity are in fact drug dealers.”

 The CSA actually exempts physicians. It was designed to attack illegal drug pushers. Even today, the DEA spouts lies such as Jim Arnold, Director Chief Liason & Policy, Diversion Control Division at the May FDA meeting that I attended who said “We’re not going after doctors in their offices, we go after the ones sitting in Starbucks selling prescriptions.”  Well hopefully you see that is a lie. And pulling out a phrase that exempts physicians to then use against them is not only unethical, but illegal. These US Attorneys should be held accountable. OH!  But the CSA protects them, giving them immunity for whatever they do. In today’s unethical, “what’s-in-it-for-me” society, that is leading this country toward anarchy.

Ms. Lang’s daughter and supposed co-owner to one clinic, Faith Blake, pleaded guilty even though she wasn’t, and received 44 years.  

Addendum:

To end these attacks, restore pain management, and provide compensation to all the families that have been destroyed by government overreach, we must get the Controlled Substance Act repealed.  Join Doctorsofcourage to get that done. Let’s end the War on Drugs, Doctors and Pain Patients, end the black market, solve the southern border crisis, and restore proper pain management.  It CAN be done!

Addendum from the author:

I have failed in my mission to end these attacks on doctors and pain patients. Through John Bevere’s book The Bait of Satan, I have figured out why—my lack of forgiveness to those who attacked me. As in Mark 11: 24-26:

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

And when you do not do the will of the Father, you are estranged from him and he will ignore you.  So we all must forgive the agents who attacked us in order for things to be made right through any of our works.

Jesus said

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

But we cannot lay down our lives for God unless we know Him well enough to trust Him. We must have the assurance that He would never do anything to harm us. He always looks out for what He knows is in our best interest. As a nation, those of us suffering from these attacks must understand that we are serving as God’s messengers of love.  We must forgive those who persecute us and love them instead, following God’s will for us. Then and only then will we see fruits from our labor.

So I hope that everyone who has suffered from what happened to the doctor can trust the Lord, forgive those who have hurt you, and help bring this country back to the God-fearing country that our forefathers founded. Then, and only then, can you be a part of the effort to stop these attacks. I look forward to that day.
