“I post this now only so that not one more kid dies.”
I extend my sympathies to her and her family. I only wish she would learn what would actually do what she wants to accomplish. The methods she has chosen won’t. It is the responsibility of every person reading this post to pass on to her and any other person caught in this situation, what will end the overdose trend.
She states: “This is a trend now and overdoses amongst teens is on the rise.”
Answer: True, but it isn’t the drug’s fault.
Not knowing what the REAL cause of drug abuse is, her method to stop it is to tell parents to get their kids off Snapchat.
Answer: Snapchat doesn’t cause experimentation with drugs or drug overdose. And you really think you are going to stop kids accessing social media?
In her statement to USA TODAY, Berman implored several social media platforms to join in the investigation of Samuel’s death.
“We call on Snapchat and Twitter to help the Santa Monica Police with their investigation” Berman wrote. “And we encourage every parent to manage their children’s social media as closely as possible.”
So it would be a good idea to communicate the REAL cause of drug abuse to the social media companies as well.
According to Berman and her husband, Samuel Chapman, Sammy was feeling isolated through the COVID-19 epidemic and wanted to experiment with prescription pills when he discovered a menu of drugs for sale on Snapchat. However, that wasn’t his first attempt. Berman said she and Chapman had an open dialogue with Sammy about drugs when they first discovered his past cannabis use.
Berman said she’s learned even more now about how the opioid crisis in America was a pandemic “way before COVID-19.” “Kids think, ‘Oh I can just take this once and I won’t get addicted’.
Again, just spreading the propaganda that the drug causes addiction.
Berman and Chapman plan on turning their pain into purpose and will continue speaking out about the danger of buying pills on social media. They are encouraging other parents to know their kids’ phone passwords to monitor activity. They need to know the REAL cause of drug abuse, because what they’ve been spouting so far is simple propaganda.
In spite of the fact that the drugs involved were illicit drugs from Mexico, the media reports put up pictures of legal, legitimate pharmaceutical bottles of hydrocodone and oxycodone with her story.
So, CPPs out there, and anyone else interested in stopping the War on Drugs, use this catastrophe to get the truth out there to someone who has people’s ear. Ten to fifteen years ago, I pommeled the Oprah Winfrey show with the truth, in hopes that I would be a guest and could educate the world. I never received a response. If she had responded, we wouldn’t be in the position we are in today, and Samuel would be alive. Because illegal fentanyl would not be on the street. Write to Dr. Berman. Share the video on The REAL Cause of Drug Abuse on doctorsofcourage.org/videos/ with her. Tell her I am available for a podcast or show. Let’s get the word out to the world and stop the attacks on opioids.
If you use Instagram, send her a message. Her other contact information is:
Be sure and tell her that she can stop the deaths of teenagers by listening to me and learning the truth about drug abuse. She could really make a difference if she was on the right side of the problem.

So sad for this family. Mental health across all spectrums must be addressed. This is ongoing. I’m sure this child had not planned on dying. An illicit drug was snuck into what he took. It has zero to do with legitimate pain patients. 2 separate issues. Addiction & mental health. Plus inhumane treatment for chronically ill patients in pain 24/7. We can help both groups
Yes. And the best way to end the deaths from illicit drugs is to do away with the Controlled Substance Act so that illicit street drugs aren’t necessary. When drugs are legalized, the black market goes down the tube.
