So now the truth comes out. Roland F. Chalifoux has figured out that the attacks on him were due to the monopoly of hospitals in America against independent physicians—what I’ve been exposing since 1997 and what brought charges against me, my convictions, and now the refusal of the Virginia Board of Medicine to reinstate my license. I think our conversations back in the past during those attacks gave him the understanding of what is happening now, and he is jumping on it.
You can get the backstory about him on the post Roland F. Chalifoux Jr, DO. Notice that the federal charges were dropped and he never went to trial. But now, due to the local hospital bringing in an employed pain management physician, Dr. Chalifoux, independent owner of Rivers Edge Pain Relief in Wheeling, WV, has had a hospital-created complaint brought up in order to suspend his privileges.
Dr. Chalifoux is a fighter, through the experience of the first government attack. So he has taken the bull by the horns and has filed a complaint in federal court against Wetzel County Hospital, West Virginia United Health System doing business as West Virginia University Health System or WVU Health System, Dr. Donald Blum, Dr. Niraj Mohan, Dr. Matthew Sokos, Dr. Hany Tadros, Sean Smith, president of WCH, and Jessica Huffman.
Hospital Monopoly Procedure
Hospital employees created a case against Dr. Chalifoux to get his privileges suspended on June 16, 2022. Neither Dr. Chalifoux nor the patient was interviewed by the hospital executive in charge of the investigation. Instead, he consulted members of the Medical Executive Committee and conducted a hearing July 1, 2 weeks post-suspension, which Dr. Chalifoux called a “sham peer review”. He was never provided with a copy of the complaint or any witness statements. Dr. Chalifoux went through the appropriate appeal steps, but the suspension was upheld. The hospital then reported the suspension to the National Practitioner Data Bank and the West Virginia Board of Osteopathic Medicine. The WVBOM dismissed the complaint.
Meanwhile, WCH and WVU hired Dr. Luay Mrad with billboards touting, “Your pain is under new management.” See the Facebook add for Dr. Mrad by the hospital below, before the setup attack on Dr Chalifoux.
The training and hiring of Dr. Mrad is an example of the exploitation by hospitals of foreign-trained doctors. Be forewarned, Dr. Mrad. You will be used, abused, and eventually charged with crimes to take all that you are making away and put you in a prison cell. BTW, it is amazing that these two doctors look like identical twins.
But back to what this protocol does to Dr. Chalifoux and what he is doing about it. He says that WCH and WVU intentionally drove him out of the market to attempt to limit and control competition and monopolize the market. He says his reputation has been damaged by the defendants and that he has suffered damage and financial harm. The suspension makes it virtually impossible for him to obtain new medical staff privileges at any other hospital or licensure in other states.
Chalifoux accuses the defendants of restraint of trade in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act, violating his right to due process with the “sham peer review,” defamation, civil conspiracy and tortious interference. He seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages, attorney fees and court costs.
Good for you, Dr. Chalifoux. May the force be with you.

What Needs to Be Done?
Hospital ownership of physicians needs to be eliminated by law. It would reduce healthcare costs by probably 75%. Hospital/government collusion in the attacks of physicians would be reduced. Doctors need to work for the patient, not the hospital.

My heart goes out to Dr. Chalifoux. May the tide turn in his favor. I do not understand how those big entities believe in what they are doing to our physicians. I pray they never need the help of these doctors.
