Lonnie Joseph Parker, MD, 55, of Texarkana is a primary care physician with pain management training.  He was arrested in October, 2019 based on a federal indictment of nine counts prescribing without a legitimate medical purpose outside the scope of a professional practice. Some of those charges were for cough syrup.  Really?  A doctor is going to prescribe codeine illegitimately to non-patients so it can be abused?  How low can you go, DOJ?  If I were a drug addict I would expect a little more than cough syrup! But this basically shows that any physician prescribing any controlled substance is a potential target.

The investigation by the DEA into Lonnie Parker began in 2018 following complaints from law enforcement, which included the possible overdose death of a person in Texas. There is no connection published with Dr. Parker as his physician, however. Then they apply the numbers game again in the media, to sway the jury pool to think something is illegal, and they can’t even calculate correctly!. But people reading the media don’t check that. 1.2 million doses for 1,508 patients for 2 years  works out to be an average of one dose per day. That’s not even enough to treat pain, much less supply an addict!  The charges against Dr. Parker also include that he prescribed approximately 16 gallons of Promethazine with Codeine cough syrup to approximately 29 patients during the same 2 year period. That breaks down to 6 standard 6 oz. bottles per patient.  Really?  Is prescribing 6 bottles of cough syrup in a year really justification to charge a doctor with a crime?  If those that received it were drug addicts, that would be gone in a day!  This is one of the most unbelievable violations of government overreach into medicine that I’ve seen!  The offending prosecutors are former U.S. Attorney Dak Kees and current acting US Attorney David Clay Fowlkes.

The major problem that creates the situation we are in is the media reports against medical professionals doing their job.  This, again, is one of the worst cases I’ve seen.  One culprit is Lynn LaRowe of the Texarkana Gazette.  Her article is full of innuendos involving government reports of “what patients said”.  People don’t understand what the government will do to get statements from people against whomever they want. But when the media prints it, the people believe it as true. Did this reporter go to those patients, and without the threats of the government, get a similar story?  Of course not!  What the lying, corrupt government reports is what is believed.  As Pharoah said, “So let it be written, so let it be done.”

So people of Arkansas!  You have to stop this runaway train of injustice!  Meet it head on!  Boycott the Texarkana Gazette.  Patients of Dr. Parker, write the truth to Lynn LaRowe. Did you really get cough syrup for your addiction? And if it doesn’t get published, understand whose side the paper is on. Set up a protest outside the Gazette’s office.  Get me on some virtual conferences with organizations in the Texarkana area.  Or bring me there in person.  We can’t allow this man to go to prison for treating his patients.  And if his lawyer, John Wesley Hall, was smart, he would have me there as a defense witness. Because I can explain to the jury what it will take to remove the government propaganda from their head.

We need to get the truth out to the people as soon as these government falsehoods get put into the media.   In this book, Dr. Parker describes the illegal government actions to convict him.  He also eloquently explains the effects on the body of opioids and the conventional hypothesis on the causes of addiction. He also has the basis understanding of the evil of the War on Drugs, and believes that the Controlled Substance Act needs to be repealed.  I welcome a conventionally-minded neuroscientist into the realm of really bringing our country back to protection of our individual rights.

Addendum:

I have failed in my mission to end these attacks on doctors and pain patients. Through John Bevere’s book The Bait of Satan, I have figured out why—my lack of forgiveness to those who attacked me. As in Mark 11: 24-26:

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.

And when you do not do the will of the Father, you are estranged from him and he will ignore you.  So we all must forgive the agents who attacked us in order for things to be made right through any of our works.

Jesus said

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

But we cannot lay down our lives for God unless we know Him well enough to trust Him. We must have the assurance that He would never do anything to harm us. He always looks out for what He knows is in our best interest. As a nation, those of us suffering from these attacks must understand that we are serving as God’s messengers of love.  We must forgive those who persecute us and love them instead, following God’s will for us. Then and only then will we see fruits from our labor.

So I hope that everyone who has suffered from what happened to Dr. Parker can trust the Lord, forgive those who have hurt you, and help bring this country back to the God-fearing country that our forefathers founded. Then, and only then, can you be a part of the effort to stop these attacks. I look forward to that day.
