Yippee!! Finally we have a smart jury acquitting 71 y/o John K. Sturman, MD formerly of Indianapolis, IN of all charges. Let’s hope other juries in the country follow suit, and government attorney’s offices stop making money riding the backs of hard-working physicians. Dr. Sturman, a neurologist with a sub-specialty in pain management, went through this not once, but twice, due to the arrogance of the state prosecutors thinking they could come back at him a second time and get him convicted. The sad thing is that his acquittal was a brief mention in the media, while the charges against him got the big coverage. Ruin a person’s life, stamp out his credibility and honor, and then put the truth in a small bottom corner. That’s the way of the media.
Without going through all the gory details of the charges because they were defeated, Dr. Sturman was charged with overprescribing pain medicines, using the standard phrase being promulgated by prosecutors—“outside the usual course of medical care.” The charges would be considered medical decision making. Where did these prosecutors get their medical degree?
This is basically government overreach into medicine, and has got to stop. As a result of this gross government overreach, Dr. Sturman was arrested in August, 2015 and has not been able to practice medicine since. At the time of his arrest, he was working for the VA Illiana Health Care System as chief of pain management, and was taken from his job in handcuffs. He was acquitted the first time in Dec. 2015, but Prosecutor Terry Curry appealed that, and filed charges a second time.
In their attempt to tamper with future juries, the prosecutors used the usual propaganda in their comments to the media, such as Indiana’s Attorney General Greg Zoeller when he said:
“Prescription drug abuse is an epidemic in our society and we appreciate all of Prosecutor Curry’s office’s efforts to investigate overprescribing and hold violators accountable.” “It’s imperative that we crack down on over-prescribing prescription drugs that is a contributing factor in the drug abuse epidemic in our state,” “Far too many Hoosier lives are being lost to drug addiction and overdose.”
Prosecutor Terry Curry said “Overprescribing pain medication is not only unethical, but reckless. Addiction to pain medication is a widespread problem, and physicians and medical personnel who enable and endanger addicted patients should be held accountable.”
These are pure lies perpetrated by the Justice Departments to try to blame drug abuse on medical doctors so that they can attack the doctors using Title 21 (designed to go after illegal drug cartels) and forfeit everything the doctor owns.
Showing how the government branches work together in this heinous crime, US Senator Mark Kirk even got involved querying the VA System about their hiring Dr. Sturman. Before his letter was even received by the VA, the contents was reported to the media by his press secretary–more negative reporting to attempt to influence potential jurors. But thankfully, Illinois voters got wise to Kirk’s work and replaced him with Tammy Duckworth. Let’s hope she is more responsible.
If convicted, Dr. Sturman could have spent the rest of his life in prison—for doing his job to the best of his ability! Thank you, Indiana jurors, for preventing this travesty of justice.
Addendum
It just shows how the Boards of Medicine are in cahoots with the government to take away our constitutional rights. In spite of Dr. Sturman winning in court, the Indiana Medical Board followed that acquittal by suspending Dr. Sturman’s license. Dr. Sturman–sue the Medical Board for violation of your constitutional and human rights. Join us on Doctors of Courage so this stops happening to other good doctors.
Anyone in communication with him, please tell him to work on forgiveness and when he is ready, join us in the effort to restore humanity to the nation.

I have failed in my mission to end these attacks on doctors and pain patients. Through John Bevere’s book The Bait of Satan, I have figured out why—my lack of forgiveness to those who attacked me. As in Mark 11: 24-26:
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
And when you do not do the will of the Father, you are estranged from him and he will ignore you. So we all must forgive the agents who attacked us in order for things to be made right through any of our works.
Jesus said
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
But we cannot lay down our lives for God unless we know Him well enough to trust Him. We must have the assurance that He would never do anything to harm us. He always looks out for what He knows is in our best interest. As a nation, those of us suffering from these attacks must understand that we are serving as God’s messengers of love. We must forgive those who persecute us and love them instead, following God’s will for us. Then and only then will we see fruits from our labor.
So I hope that everyone who has suffered from what happened to the doctor can trust the Lord, forgive those who have hurt you, and help bring this country back to the God-fearing country that our forefathers founded. Then, and only then, can you be a part of the effort to stop these attacks. I look forward to that day.

Dr Sturman was my Neurologist/pain Dr here in Fullerton, CA. THERE’S NOBODY— like him, ANYWHERE!! I miss him, terribly… & was very upset when he had to leave from here.
He ALWAYS- listened to me (heard me), & ran the appropriate testing on me. A Dr. w GREAT- bedside manner, & a wonderful ability for explaining test results, he has been missed out here as I REALLY NEED- a GOOD, Neuro. Dr. like Dr. Sturman & there ISN’T one like him!

It BREAKS MY HEART TO HEAR HE HAD TO SUFFER LIKE THIS.
I was so ill I wouldn’t have survived without his help. My pain was relentless and unfortunately after I had surgery I was only well for a couple years before it reversed and actually got worse.
I have yet been able to get good care. He was my doctor for quite some time and I was always so grateful. Until people truly suffer, live in constant pain and it is NEVER-ENDING PAIN, no one will ever relate. Not everyone that takes medicine gets addicted nor does terrible things. The bad people of the world have ruined it for the people who are really suffering.
I do not nor will I ever understand how drug enforcement cannot understand that the people that really need the medicine, the sick people are not the ones that are the problem. A doctor like Dr. Sturman wouldn’t have risked his livelihood, all his hard work just to get other people high. It doesn’t make sense.
If a person is a drug seeker, they are a drug seeker. That should not be blamed on the doctor. If someone has an injury or a condition which pain relief is needed, it is a doctor’s duty to help that person have some sort of quality of life. If that person has an addictive personality it is not the doctor’s fault.
That person will seek the drugs by whatever means possible.
I do not think that Drug Enforcement are taught anything in regards to the necessity of pain relief. I feel they just judge it as a drug and that is “BAD”
It is very sad that some people get addicted but how is that a doctors fault. That person will get the drugs by any means necessary.
I know I am going off topic here but it is just a point of how many of us suffer from so many poor doctors and doctirs like Dr. Sturman, who care about his patients get beat down like he did.
Dr. Sturman was the ONLY DOCTOR I have ever had that cared and listened.
When a person is truly suffering and the doctor doesn’t care, it makes the condition a person is suffering from so much worse.

This is where I go off topic…so you forgive me.
Ever since Dr. Sturman left I have been treated terribly.
People already treat people who need to take medication, like lepers. The emergency room doctors, new doctors, nurses, hospital staff, office staff.
It is bad enough that some of us are ill enough that we must have something so we can get through the day. THIS IS NOT ALWAYS BECAUSE WE ARE A DRUG ADDICT.
I hate taking the meds. They make me nauseated but without them the pain is too great.
I have the worst care right now. The place I am at keeps finding reasons to delay my appointments and my medication.
I have no E-mail or way to contact my doctor. The office never gives my doctor any of my messages. I have only the office phone # I can leave a voicemail. My doctor doesn’t even have a line to connect, an extension, NOTHING!!!
I cannot even leave a personal message.
Just this week I have left three messages with the office and on the office recording. The doctor has not called me. I am sure they never gave him my messages.
I have been extremely ill and need to speak with him but as usual I am suffering.
Every single month they say I have a balance due, every single month they refuse to book an appointment BUT…. every single month they will NOT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT unless I am paid in full. I send in my bank statements and they claim they don’t get them then finally after I make enough calls, fax over enough times, and have gotten me so stressed out they make an appointment and apologize for their mistake.
I know this sounds crazy, ridiculous, like I am making this up or making something bigger than it is but I SWEAR TO GOD, THIS GOES ON, EVERY SINGLE MONTH. I am in tears, every single month.
I had an issue with my insurance at the change of the year, I told them I would pay in full, they refused to make an appointment for me. I ended up going about 21/2-3 weeks without my medication. My two prescriptions are so separated now that my pain is never controlled.
I don’t feel a person who is already suffering should have to take this kind of abuse or anyone for that matter.
I had a VERY RARE DISORDER when I was seeing Dr. Sturman.
It isn’t so rare now.
I cannot even eat without pain relief due to my condition.
I am in Stage 5 kidney failure. I have a chronic condition where I get bile stones, STONES IN MY COMMON BILE DUCT.
I had surgery back when I was seeing Dr. Sturman.
The stones constantly obstruct my bile duct causing massive pain and cause chronic pancreatitis.
I SUFFER GREATLY.
I used to have to go to the hospital every times I got stones but I had to stop because the procedure getting rid of the stones caused such terrible pancreatitis I ended up hospitalized for weeks from the secondary issues.
I now pass them at home. It is unbearable but, I do not end up with such terrible secondary issues and the pancreatic issues are far less damaging.
This doctor’s office has screwed around with my health so badly. I do not know where to turn, what to do.
As I said, either my doctor just doesn’t want to call his patients except for that 1 appointment a month or they do not give the doctor my messages.
They are screwing around with life, my health, my prescriptions. I am constantly overdo and I go without, for no reason.
I get so sick and I really hurt. I don’t know what to do at this point.
DR. STURMAN NEVER DID THIS. I wish doctors were all like Dr. Sturman. THEY NEED TO GO AFTER PEOPLE LIKE WHERE I AM CURRENTLY.
If anyone knows where doctor Sturman is located, I would be absolutely grateful beyond words.

So sorry that you have been put in that horrible state. I was your patient at I U 500 University Dr. I have problems getting my script the way you wrote it. I offered to take the burden away from one doctor and see pain management at IU and and it is turning into protecting him not me. Are you seeing patients? You always listened to the patient and cared. Much appreciated ,thank you
My guess is that Dr. Sturman will not see your comment. I recommend that you call his office. There should be a message there as to what is going on.
Can he sue to get his attorney fees and loss of income? I wish him luck and hope he can sue!
Probably not. One of the problems with the system today is that the government agents have implied immunity. That’s why they break the law to convict us–they know they can’t be (or won’t be) held accountable.

AMEN,,,,,, and from what u stated in your meeting in Washington,,,if I were any doctor,,,,,unless they are literally caught selling something at a Starbucks,,,id tell the dea to GO TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and stop using my tax dollars on innocent men/women to comfy their retirement,,,The dea is OUT OF CONTROL,,,,HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS,,,, I still think it has to do w/them getting thrown out of South America for humanrights violations,,sooo,,,they need to replace their income/employment,,,ie,,,our doctors!!
