Carl K. Anderson, MD

Carl K. Anderson, MD, 57, an internist in Staten Island, NY, is the next item on the menu for the Eastern New York grill mill DOJ. He, four other physicians and a pharmacist are the next victims joining over 50 doctors who have already been cooked and served up for doing their job throughout the Eastern District of New York.
Dr. Anderson is being charged through illegal use of the Controlled Substance Act (CSA) with “distribution of a controlled substance”, when, of course, prescribing controlled substances is a part of any doctor’s job.
The government has been getting away with this illegal use of a law designed to attack offshore drug cartels by calling the doctor a “drug dealer in a white coat”. They depend on the naivety of the American people and their belief that our justice system is based on justice, as it was designed 200 years ago. But that has gone by the wayside in the last 20 years. Today the Department of Justice is creating crime where there is no crime, and putting innocent physicians in prison for money and promotions. The Eastern District of New York is where Loretta Lynch made her name by attacking physicians, and became Attorney General as a result. It would appear that U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman is now looking for his climb up the ladder.
To make Dr. Anderson appear like he is involved with actual illegal drug distribution, the DOJ puts him in a “conspiracy” with a person, Arthur Grande, who was a patient, but who then is alleged to have sold his pills on the street. Now doctors are not crystal ball readers. If a person claims to have a pain issue and receives medication for it, it is not the doctor who is responsible for the selling of the pills on the street. According to the U.S. Supreme Court in Gonzalez vs Oregon, “Congress regulates medical practice insofar as it bars doctors from using their prescription-writing powers as a means to engage in illicit drug dealing and trafficking as conventionally understood.” That means the doctor is standing on the street corner writing scripts for any addict that walks up. It does not mean to include the actions of fraudulent patients that the doctor is unaware of.
The government also tries to practice medicine without a license. The CSA specifically states in §802(56)(c) that “the practitioner, acting in the usual course of professional practice, determines there is a legitimate medical purpose for the issuance of the new prescription.” No one else is qualified to determine that the patient has a legitimate medical need except the doctor that is evaluating the patient at that time. So for the government official to say that there was not a legitimate medical need, he is putting himself in the position of physician, making that determination, and that is practicing medicine without a license and without the patient present.
Then the final government ploy—money. They throw out $ signs in hopes of tampering with the jury pool making them think that doctors are “in it for the money”. Believe me, for the small amount that insurance pays for doctors’ visits, especially government insurance, the risk these doctors are taking show the exact opposite—that they are caring, compassionate physicians. The income they make is not illegal or falsely obtained, but well-deserved. Patients are allowed a quality of life because of doctors like Dr. Anderson.
It’s the government who is “in it for the money”. As a result of the closing of offices like Dr. Anderson, the government is causing patients to go to the street for self-treatment, causing potential overdose, or even suicide. As these “undesirable” populations of chronically ill, government-insured, poor or disabled people die, the government is the one laughing all the way to the bank.

Addendum

Dr. Anderson accepted a plea agreement in October, 2019 and was sentenced April, 2020 to 7 years in prison.  Hopefully through spreading the truth, we can get him freed, all of us exonerated, and pain management restored before his release date.

Addendum from the author:

I have failed in my mission to end these attacks on doctors and pain patients. Through John Bevere’s book The Bait of Satan, I have figured out why—my lack of forgiveness to those who attacked me. As in Mark 11: 24-26:

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

And when you do not do the will of the Father, you are estranged from him and he will ignore you.  So we all must forgive the agents who attacked us in order for things to be made right through any of our works.

Jesus said

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

But we cannot lay down our lives for God unless we know Him well enough to trust Him. We must have the assurance that He would never do anything to harm us. He always looks out for what He knows is in our best interest. As a nation, those of us suffering from these attacks must understand that we are serving as God’s messengers of love.  We must forgive those who persecute us and love them instead, following God’s will for us. Then and only then will we see fruits from our labor.

So I hope that everyone who has suffered from what happened to the doctor can trust the Lord, forgive those who have hurt you, and help bring this country back to the God-fearing country that our forefathers founded. Then, and only then, can you be a part of the effort to stop these attacks. I look forward to that day.
