David Lewis, MD, 41 is the youngest of the 5 physicians at The Pain Center in Warren, Michigan to be charged with fraud and distribution. After a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, medical degree from Meharry Medical College, residency in Anesthesiology, and a pain management fellowship, Dr. Lewis just completed board requirements to be certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology. So do you really think that after going through all of that, Dr. Lewis would choose to submit fraudulent claims to Medicare? Of course not! He is a victim of gross government misconduct in violation of constitutional rights as any doctor in the country is possible to be.

Dr. Lewis is charged with one count of health care fraud conspiracy, one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, two counts of aiding and abetting health care fraud based on 2 claims, and one count of aiding and abetting the unlawful distribution of controlled substances based on giving 60 doses of hydrocodone-acetaminophen to a patient.

The doctors in this office are being charged with making money by prescribing opioids and other controlled substances so patients would become returning customers and need additional opioids, and then be forced to undergo medically unnecessary procedures. They are accused of submitting false claims to Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross and using the funds from the claims for personal use.
So what does that mean? Basically patients came to the office with chronic pain which the doctors diagnosed and then treated. By law, patients have to return for refills of their pain medicines. Non-opioid treatments-which the government is pushing now-were done. And when the claims were paid, the doctors received their salaries which they took home to use as they personally needed. I think that is called routine medical care in this country. If the return of a patient for chronic care is criminal, then every medical practice from pediatrics to geriatrics needs to watch out, because you could be next.
Chronic pain patients are all jumping on the wagon of fighting the 90mme guidelines of the CDC. But what they don’t realize is that the government will attack targeted physicians for as little as #60 Lortab, as they did here. What they need to do is get behind the doctors and fight for the DOJ following the rule of law and not create crime where there is no crime.

The government hopes that some of these doctors will cop a plea. They probably picked Dr. Lewis as a target for this possibility. Having just finished all of his training, he doesn’t have the financial backing for good legal representation, and might be forced by the usual government-provided defense attorney to either plea or act as a “cooperating witness” by committing forced perjury against the other defendants. They are not permitted to communicate with each other, and we’ve all seen the way the prosecutors work with all of the interrogation scenes on TV. Believe me, they happen. Addendum:

I have failed in my mission to end these attacks on doctors and pain patients. Through John Bevere’s book The Bait of Satan, I have figured out why—my lack of forgiveness to those who attacked me. As in Mark 11: 24-26:

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespassed. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.

And when you do not do the will of the Father, you are estranged from him and he will ignore you.  So we all must forgive the agents who attacked us in order for things to be made right through any of our works.

Jesus said

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

But we cannot lay down our lives for God unless we know Him well enough to trust Him. We must have the assurance that He would never do anything to harm us. He always looks out for what He knows is in our best interest. As a nation, those of us suffering from these attacks must understand that we are serving as God’s messengers of love.  We must forgive those who persecute us and love them instead, following God’s will for us. Then and only then will we see fruits from our labor.

So I hope that everyone who has suffered from what happened to Dr. Lewis can trust the Lord, forgive those who have hurt you, and help bring this country back to the God-fearing country that our forefathers founded. Then, and only then, can you be a part of the effort to stop these attacks. I look forward to that day.
