Lesly Pompy, MD of Monroe, Michigan is the latest pain management physician now under attack for treating pain. His office was raided by the usual DEA agents, state and local law enforcement on Sept 26, 2016. His office is located at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital and he is affiliated with them, but the hospital immediately made public that his practice was not owned by the hospital.
Dr.Pompy is a board certified anesthesiolgist with subspecialty board in Pain Management. He earned his MD degree from the New-York Medical College, an MBA from the University of South Florida, an MS from Madonna University and an MSF from Walsh College, so he is highly educated and intelligent.
Dr. Lesly Pompy has been named in two search warrants—of his office and his private residence (for confiscation purposes). He is accused of prescribing more than one million doses of narcotic pills, supposedly the most in the state of Michigan, in the past year. The doctor was arrested and taken to jail where he was expected to be booked on prescription and insurance fraud charges in addition to delivery of narcotics charges.
Michigan State Police Lt. Marc Moore, head of the drug unit MANTIS, accused Dr. Pompy of seeing hundreds of patients a day and issuing prescriptions for opiates to people who did not need them. Lt. Moore showed his ignorance and prejudice by referring to another convicted doctor saying “That’s Linares territory,” and saying that he is convinced Dr. Pompy contributed to the heroin addiction epidemic in Monroe County. Someone needs to inform Lt. Moore (as well as all other law enforcement) of the REAL cause of drug abuse that I teach through my DVD and webinars.
Lt. Moore also said “Our information was, you go in there a handful of times and eventually you’ll get a medication from him.” Well…that’s how pain management offices are supposed to work.
On Dr. Pompy’s Facebook page, patients have written messages showing the kind of doctor he is—compassionate and knowledgeable. Examples:
-
Dr. Pompy has been helping my mother for the last 10 years. Before him, no one could even acknowledge her pain was real. Today she loves life and appreciates the things that matter like family. Thank you Dr. Pompy.
-
5 star rating: Dr Pompy goes over and beyond on helping those with difficult illness. I have CRPS and he has help bring me along in my illness to places other doctors could not. TY Doc for being here for me the last four years. Yes he has many patients because he is good at what he does but when it is your turn he listens to you. I have been to many doctors and I would wait my turn gladly to see doctor Pompy. I trust him with my care. He has not ever lead me wrong.

5 star rating: I love Dr.Pompy. He has helped me overcome a lot of pain issues besides his great bedside manners! He is truly one if not the best Dr. they have in Monroe. If it weren’t for Dr. Pompy I don’t think I’d be here…staff is great they will help with anything you have going on always there to help out. Thank you Dr.Pompy for everything! ♡
Similar statements have been written in response to the negative doctor-bashing media articles.
Now for some facts. ProPublica has published prescription data on 410,000 doctors across the country. Let’s compare Dr. Pompy with the government subsidized “expert witness” that they used against me and see how “bad” Dr. Pompy really is, (or isn’t?)
First, here is the data on the medications written by the doctors. What this shows is that Dr. Pompy covers all of the needs of the patient pertaining to their pain and side effects of their medications, not just the pain medicine itself. This shows a doctor who is more well-rounded and patient oriented.

The medications listed under Dr. Swanson with a — means he never prescribed these. They are all non-controlled medications that would be considered by the legal powers targeting doctors as the better choice. Notice Dr. Pompy prescribed them while Dr. Swanson, the government “expert” didn’t.

This table shows a few significant points. In the attack against Dr. Pompy, the law charges him with prescribing a high number of controlled drugs. But here, compared with Dr. Swanson, the government’s accepted “expert”, Dr. Pompy didn’t prescribe as much of the strong opiates as Dr. Swanson did. His prescriptions were more for the lower strength opiates—a move that was basically forced on pain management physicians because of the anti-long-acting opiaphobia the government has caused. But naturally that increases the number of pills to do the job.
Also, Dr. Swanson prescribed a considerable amount of benzodiazepines (Ativan, Valium and Zanax), while Dr. Pompy prescribed them to less than 11 patients over the entire year. Benzodiazepines treat anxiety and anxiety is more of a marker for addiction and abuse than pain medicines are. So in actuality, Dr. Swanson is contributing more to the potential addict than Dr. Pompy is.
So what does all of this prove? That there is no justification for this attack on Dr. Pompy. He is just the chosen target of the government for whatever reason they want to target him—money or prestige. But realistically his prescription pattern is actually better than that of the physicians that the government uses as “expert witnesses” in trials. And doctors like Dr. Swanson shouldn’t be throwing stones.
As a side note, Dr. Swanson took over one of my patients that I discharged after 2 months because I recognized the fact that she was taking medications I had not prescribed. Dr. Swanson continued to see her for the 6 months we saw her records (and could still be seeing her), even though the illegal medication was still showing up in her UDS. But Dr. Swanson is still in practice and I spent >2 years in prison.
Addendum:
Dr. Pompy was acquitted of all charges on Jan 10, 2023. With his training now in law, hopefully he will get behind ending these attacks on the medical profession and the patients we serve.
Addendum from the author:
I have failed in my mission to end these attacks on doctors and pain patients. Through John Bevere’s book The Bait of Satan, I have figured out why—my lack of forgiveness to those who attacked me. As in Mark 11: 24-26:
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
And when you do not do the will of the Father, you are estranged from him and he will ignore you. So we all must forgive the agents who attacked us in order for things to be made right through any of our works.
Jesus said
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
But we cannot lay down our lives for God unless we know Him well enough to trust Him. We must have the assurance that He would never do anything to harm us. He always looks out for what He knows is in our best interest. As a nation, those of us suffering from these attacks must understand that we are serving as God’s messengers of love. We must forgive those who persecute us and love them instead, following God’s will for us. Then and only then will we see fruits from our labor.
So I hope that everyone who has suffered from what happened to the doctor can trust the Lord, forgive those who have hurt you, and help bring this country back to the God-fearing country that our forefathers founded. Then, and only then, can you be a part of the effort to stop these attacks. I look forward to that day.

I work for Dr Pompy and was there when all of this happened. It saddens me that nothing has come of this, No charges, No nothing . Except, they took his money, they took his car, they took his phone, they took his pride. They have made him think he cant go on any more, well , Sorry but Dr Pompy will be back and he will survive this terrible attack. And I hope he makes the DEA pay all of his bills for 2 months and pay for pain and suffering that this has caused his business and pay for all his patients suffering as they cant find help from any other doctor. Doctors are scared to even treat our patients. I want all of the staff to write a formal complaint against the DEA, Marc Moore for causing them to not have a job and loose 2 months of pay and many lost their phones and other bills are behind. 2 staff had to go to the emergency room because of this stress, one is pregnant and its high risk pregnancy. One has severe migraines and the tension and stress has cause her severe pain and she has had to go to the ER for help.
I want a civil suit, class action brought against this .
Its just not right to walk in and treat patients and staff and a very smart doctor the way they did.
It is standard for attacks to occur this way. It can take up to 2 years from the raid to the charges. That is what is called job security. In my attack, 6 people had their salaries for 2 years as a result of the attack on me. Just because charges haven’t been placed doesn’t mean they won’t. Ignorant of the procedure, we think that the calm after the raid means we are safe from prosecution, but no–they are just milking the system getting THEIR paychecks while the doctor lives in limbo. This is just the front of the storm. The tsunami will follow. Get on board and learn from my webinars what the real cause of drug abuse is, so we can inform the American people and end this gravy train of illegality that the DOJ is riding. My next webinar will be Nov 1 at 8:00PM EST. I hope you’ll be there.
If this is not abuse of ,”just powers,” and, pure corruption,,,i don’t know what is..If our government galls this ,”justice,,then our government has fully been corrupted!!!!!!maryrw,
Dr . pompy helped me alot wear other doctors told me they cant help me and one told me to quit my job which i have been at for 7 years
Excellent work, keep standing-up for doctors! These criminal COPS need to be exposed. You have very useful information about the tricks they use. The problem with doctors is that “they don’t believe it can happen to them.” They don’t know COPS are crooked. We have been indoctrinated since kindergarten to trust “Blue Lives” and the news enforces that belief. They are crooks! The blacks know it!
I would like to start by thanking Dr. Pompy for all the help he has given to me and my husband Raymond.. We have been with Dr. Pompy since he has started his practice here and at that time my husband was injured on his job at Monroe paper….My husband stands y feet tall and at that time he weighed maybe 130 pounds and they were feeding paper into rolls and something went wrong and he got pinched between 2 10,000 rolls of paper he was a lucky man and thats when we started seeing doctor Pompy and y e helped my husband and then I hurt my back and neck and I was sent to doctor Pompy and he has been helping me every since and I had surgery on my neck and back and the doctor who did it did the wrong surgery and when doctor Pompy found out he was not happy but he has helped me with the pain and that man is excellent and a very good doctor and i don’t think that is fair….. What I would love to ask is now what are we supposed to do cause we have no way of getting our meds and you can’t go from taking them to not taking them cause people will be going through withdrawals and that is very dangerous….. I pray for doctor Pompy and I hope that he will be able to practice again and hopefully soon….. Thank you Dr. Pompy for all you have done for me and my husband….. We love you and you are in our prayers….. Just remember our GOD is a great big GOD…💒🙏💔
God is Great God Bless each & everyone of you ☺☝hopefully Dr.Pompy will be back very very soon…..good luck
Thankyou doctor Pompy i was addicted to pain pills and he got me off of them by using suboxone. Now because people cant find other doctors who will prescribe this how do i stop the withdrawals…
You could use Scorbatate which is described here: http://www.sevenpillarstotalhealth.com/our-products/#!/Scorbatate/p/64687647/category=18069056
I’m same here scared of not finding a doctor that will prescribe our med good luck & pray Dr.Pompy will be back to his true family & friends……
Thank you for writing this…I’m one of Dr. Pompy’s patience of well over 10 years. I have chronic back issues that make it hard for me to function daily…so sad that people that really need his help are being denied care…
My story started after a boating accident. Many surgeries including spinal lumbar and also a life -threatening surgeries to repair a. Herniated cervical spine. 5 surgeries 3 cages and a plate later 10 fused discs. He has pain blocked me and through a long process an internal nerve stimulator implant in my spine my life changed for the better. Again I say I am 67 yrs old working full time as a nurse. I am a patient for over 15 yrs. I do need meds for breakthrough or muscular or joint pain. Not all pain can be alleviated by my nerve stimulation simply because all pain is different. He is well educated that is why so many physicians send their patients to him. Celebrating his care. I would trust him over and over again. He is Gods angel to many. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will stand by you.
ty for this article, here is my story,, on this so called bad dr, been his patient for years. since a failed knee replacement among other things, when i 1st started seeing him i was on 80mg oxcontin 2 times a day, and percs, 5mg 4 times a day,,prescribed by the dr who operated on my knee 5 times , i now take 1 10 mg oxy at night, and maybe 1 perc a day if that,, he has thru pain blocks and such, got me down to a tolerable pain level,, and way down on narcotics, he is just a great Dr,, #ISUPPORTPOMPY,, pill mill docs do NOT get you on lower amounts. i was also there when the raid happened, it was completly over the top, scaring so many people like that.i have tried inviting a few of the people from the monroe news fb page that were bashing him and believing everything they read to come read our stories on the fb supporting dr pompy, but they just want to bash,
omg,,,this is soo aweful,,,this poor Doc,,,,Unfortunately until this dam election is over,,,Not too much we can do,,but get a lawsuit together to save our Doc’s,,,and us,,I have BEEN referred via the U.N to a agency called the Inter America’s human rights council fort legal justice,,,There is a lot of hoops I gotta jump thru,,but it is totally worth it..To keep on seeing these good men/women have their lifes ruin by a agency that has corrupted their purpose,,thus abused their ,”just powers,”derived from the governed,,,ThiS agency has already sued the dea of America and WON,, GOT EM’ KICKED OUT OF South America,,IE Bolivia/PERU,,,so THEY ARE FULLY AWARE OF THE DEA’S CORRUPTION,,Obviously this Doc is a awesome Doc,,and knows what he is doing ,,obviously the dea has not a clue,,,I just hope he stays strong,,,and does accept a plea deal….because HE IS INNOCENT,,the ones guilty here is the dea!!MARY
Sharie, I was just reading your comment and we actually have had i believe similar experiences in problems. I have also had 5 surgeries on my knee (1st was replacement, then infection, then concrete antibiotic spacer, then another knee replacement, then 2 more to fix issues) and I have no idea why the pain won’t go away or have ever met anyone who had the same situation happen. Im sorry to hear about your pain doctor. I haven’t ever been to one.
Im grateful i found this. Dr. Pompy has saved my life. Ive been seeing him since 2000 for severe headaches. Then a variety of on the job injuries 6 arm surgeries and then a hit and run car accident in 2013. I couldnt walk. Was bed ridden for over a year after that due to tears in my glutes. He is a brilliant confident well educated Dr. I was also there. It was a circus!! There was zero reason to do what they did and continue to do to him and his staff. I pray for them often. Its been nearly impossible to find alternate care in the meantime. Ive suffered terribly. I hope and pray hes back to work very soon
They are not going to stop until all doctor’s are afraid to treat pain at all & I believe that’s exactly what they are trying to do !Poor man my heart goes out to him. One thing I don’t understand & take offense too in this article is why the author would say ( Benzodiazepines treat anxiety and anxiety is more of a marker for addiction and abuse than pain medicines are ) ? I have had anxiety off & on through out my life & was put on Xanax after many years of trying other treatments 1st but I always tried other ways to control it & did so successfully much of the time mostly by focusing on a craft or something I enjoyed but when all this started & doctors &/or their staff started treating everyone including the elderly & those that you could tell were in bad shape like an addict , piece of crap and /or like a criminal my anxiety went through the roof but even then I always tried a 1/2 of one 1st & have had a script for more then a year at a time or longer then at the height of my anxiety that was in a large part caused by pain management that did not write them for me in the 1st place & did not know anything about my history the dr I had been seeing for 15 yrs did but pain Dr told me I was not allowed to take it anymore without caring they sent me into dangerous withdrawal which at any other time would not have happened cuz I didn’t take them enough before to be affected that way so I don’t like it being insinuated that I may be an addict based on a med I am /was on , it is the same way that pain patients are being treated for needing pain relief/ pain meds ! People with pain can & do have both conditions that can be related or not to each other & I am aware of the dangers of mixing them & understand the fear but please don’t label me unless it is as a chronic pain patient with anxiety
As the author of the article, I can respond to your comment. However, you might not understand my explanation. For a better explanation and the chance to actually ask questions in person, I recommend that you join me in the webinar on October 5 at 4:00 EST on The Real Cause of Drug Abuse, or any future webinars as I will be offering them on a monthly basis.
Anxiety is the hallmark of Luetism. Luetism is the miasm in homeopathy in which diseases are present that cause destruction of tissue–such as cancer, COPD, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. Luetism is also the miasm of the addict. When you look at most of the remedy types in Luetism, you will find alcoholism or drug abuse. Now people can have pain who are in other miasms, but they won’t have the anxiety levels of the luetic, so there is less risk of addiction. Having anxiety doesn’t make you an addict, it is just a marker of risk. Because, also as I’m sure you know, addicts turn to their drug of choice usually to reduce anxiety of some sort, or forget their problems You can also learn more about this by getting one of my DVDs which are for sale on my website http://www.sevenpillarstotalhealth.com
For me,,,any arrest of any of our Doctors is a fraud on behalf of our government…All these doctors have 12 years of schooling if not more,,,they know what their doing,,,are government does not,,,they are not doctors,,,they are bully’s,,who obviously know NOTHING about how pain management works and thee how to being a patient unfortunate enough to be stuck w/physical pain from a medical illness the rest of our lives,,,No normal humanbeing would want to live the rest of their life in physical pain,,be it 1 year or 40..Furthermore,,I just recently discovered that when anyone is tested for drugs,,,if that person actually did heroin,,,it will show on all drugs test as a opiate/morphine,,,,not heroin,,,because the reagants in the test kits themselves are only designed to react w/the original plant material alkaloid of the poppy,,thus the test does not distinguish between what drug was made from the poppy,,be it my legal meds or heroin,,Soooo every single piece of data this corrupt government has put out about o.d.’s,,,all of it,,,is a lie!!!!!!JUST LIKE ARRESTING OUR GOOD DOCTORS!!!!slandering them before being proven guilty in the press,,every single time!!!Stay strong Doc,,your innocent,,,,THEIR THE GUILTY ONES!!!SADLY OUR GOVERMENT ARE THE GUILTY ONES,,,NOT U DOC!!!!””When any form of government abuses their ,”just power,” derived by the governed,,or a long train of abuses evinces the design to reduce US to absolute DESPOTISM,,, it is our rite,,it is our duty,to alter or abolish those government and provide new guards for our safety.,””Now Doc,those words are directly from the Declaration Of Independence,” were men of very high moral character died for this country,,U stick w/those ideas,THOSE WORDS,,YOUR IN PRETTY GOOD COMPANY,,YOUR INNOCENT,,,THEIR GUILTY,,,,NOW PROVE THE TRUTH AND IN DOING SO,,YOUR INNOCENCE!!our innocence,,mary
Actually, Mary, using paper chromatography, each individual chemical is identifiable. So urine drug screens can identify oxycodone separate from morphine, from methadone, from hydromorphone, and so on. Heroin has not been on UDS in the past, and would probably show up as an opiate, but not as morphine. If a person eats enough poppy seeds, it would show up as an opiate. So if the general category of opiate is positive, but morphine or codeine is empty, then it is probably heroin. The difficulty would be if someone is prescribed morphine, and also takes heroin, that might be harder to catch. Amounts of each might be an indicator, but doctors scan the list quickly and might not pick up on that. As for blood testing, they can do the same thing. It’s whether they choose to is the question.
But there is no separate test for heroin,,,and how does a coroner or a doctor treating a o.d. count it,, if it never shows a positive for heroin??How many people actually o.d. from heroin,,,and its counted as opiate o.d.??mary
Not being a medical examiner, I can’t answer your question with perfect knowledge. I just know that specific chemicals can be identified. I guess it just depends on how specific they want to me. If they are just happy with opiate, then they might stop there.
I do not think we should blame AG Garland for what the DOJ is doing. He is simply a product of the propaganda like everyone else. Being Jewish with a family history of the holocaust, I feel that as soon as he recognizes that the war on drugs is simply propaganda to target minorities like Hitler did, he would be on our side. But I’m just a one-man band, and I can’t do it all alone. But the truth that he needs to learn is on Doctorsofcourage. It is the population of CPPs and those attacked chasing rabbits and not getting to what will make a difference that needs to change.
