CH’KLUMP — (A Chunky Clanging Thump) — the sound an 8 foot tall, by 3 foot wide, by 2 inch thick metal cell door makes as it slams shut; an unnerving, hollow, thunderously reverberating chunky clanging thump!
I developed the above definition after these many months of detainment; locked down a minimum of 4 times a day — 6:30am CH’KLUMP!, 12:05pm CH’KLUMP!, 6:30pm CH’KLUMP!, and then for the night at 9:30pm CH’KLUMP! — confined to a concrete crypt, no bigger than a bathroom.
I coined this descriptive of my dwelling after many discussions with fellow detainees; their interviews — impromptu impressions of imprisonment and it’s associated sounds. There is a sense of oppression in confinement and it’s assault on your senses, the sounds of a cellblock alone can begin to fray one’s sanity. CH’KLUMP! Over, over, and over again the doors close individually and not all at once; 40 times, 4 times a day. 160 daily reminders reverberating off the block walls … CH’KLUMP! CH’KLUMP! CH’KLUMP! By far the loudest of them all — your own. CH’KLUMP!

CH’KLUMP! The makers of mischief and the mayhem they’ve manipulated and manufactured.
CH’KLUMP! The savagery and dastardly deeds of my demented detractors.
CH’KLUMP! The haters that have formed a despicable knot, they know only of endless dissatisfaction.
CH’KLUMP! The interminable strife they seek, they reek of soul rot.
CH’KLUMP! CH’KLUMP! CH’KLUMP! …
CH’KLUMP! They delight in destruction, dismantling and dismembering dreams, leaving a land of desolation.
CH’KLUMP! They wreck havoc with an unconscionable cruelty.
CH’KLUMP! Their friendships and affections toward me were but a pretense.
CH’KLUMP! Their blatant disregard for my good deeds and devotions to them.
CH’KLUMP! CH’KLUMP! CH’KLUMP! …
CH’KLUMP! Their betrayal was but to better themselves.
CH’KLUMP! They blare their blasphemy of the truth, blazing a trail to the proverbial beheading block.
CH’KLUMP! Their tongues wag as they whisper ill will of me to anyone that will listen.
CH’KLUMP! They are undaunted in their pursuit of my prosecution.

CH’KLUMP! Their persecution, a repayment for my predictable passion — my patients.
CH’KLUMP! Their plan was perfect — using my passion and feeding political paranoia
CH’KLUMP! Their amnesia of the facts plus an aversion to authenticity.
CH’KLUMP! This lamentable detour in my life due to the peril of passivity.

Loud, resonant, and repetitive — 40 times, 4 times a day — 160 reminders of the inconvenience of Karma occurring too slowly.

Then — with every lockdown, you lie there waiting … waiting for that low whine, the gear grinding mechanical groan of that 8 foot tall, by 3 foot wide, by 2 inch thick metal cell door as it opens to yet another endless cycle of this Hell that is jail — the Purgatory of imprisonment. 160 resounding reminders, resonating in my skull — 40 times, 4 times a day — the sands of time wasting away as unnoticed as tears in the rain …

Jeffrey Young, PA, had a 4 day trial March 27-March 31, 2023. He, his friends, and supporters thought that the Supreme Court decision US v. Ruan would work to acquit him. He spent almost 4 years in jail pre-trial. As I keep warning people, the District courts don’t pay any attention to SCOTUS. It’s all about the money. Jeffrey was convicted on Mar 31.
