I’ve given up on pain patients and doctors. They won’t learn what is necessary to stop the attacks on opioids. So I’m going to reach out to the general population through the social media, Clubhouse.

I am starting a weekly meeting room on Clubhouse called “End the War on Drugs”. In this room I hope to teach people the truth that drugs are not the cause of drug abuse or addiction and we need to stop the attacks on the drugs, as it is a waste of time and money. If you want opioids to return to use and not be phased out entirely, you need to get on board this discussion.

If you aren’t familiar with Clubhouse, it is a social media phone connection to the entire world. I joined back in May, 2021 when you had to have an iPhone and an invitation.  Since their Beta test ended in July, 2021, you can now join with any type of phone, and without an invitation.  So if you want to join the cause to bring pain management back to the United States and the world, you should join and participate in my weekly room. And you can still invite people to join Clubhouse, which you should do to spread the word that will end the attacks on opioids. The invitation to your friends simply encourages them to download the app. You must have the app to join the conversation. You also must be on the call live, as there is no replay. If we get enough participation, we might have that in the future.

How to Join Clubhouse

Signing up for Clubhouse only takes a few minutes. All you need is a phone number that can receive text messages.

  1. Download the Clubhouse app on your iPhone from the App Store, or on your Android from the Play Store.
  2. Open the app and tap Welcome in!, then enter your phone number.
  3. You’ll get a text message with a six-digit verification code. Take this code and enter it into the app.
  4. Once you’re verified, you’ll get to pick a username and profile photo.
  5. Go through the steps to choose your interests, users that you want to follow (please make sure one of those is Linda Cheek), and account information.

You’ve now got a Clubhouse account of your own, and you can start listening and speaking in chats right away.

How to Invite Someone to Join Clubhouse

Clubhouse’s home page, known as the “Hallway,” is where the magic happens. This is where you find all the active rooms listed for you to browse and join. But it’s also where you can send your invites from. Inviting your friends from the Hallway is the easiest way to send invites. Here’s how:

  1. Launch the Clubhouse app on your phone.
  2. Tap the mail icon at the top of the screen.
  3. Scroll down to find the friend you want to invite to join Clubhouse from your list of contacts shown on the screen, then tap Invite next to their name. Alternatively, type their name in the search space provided.

This method is best suited if you believe your friend may be interested in the app, or if you’ve told them about it and then send them an invite thereafter.

If you come to the room and then want to invite a friend to join, here’s what you do:
Instead of exiting the Room to invite a friend from the Hallway, simply ping them into the room.

  1. Inside the Room, tap on the add (+) button in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  1. Now choose the method you want to use to share this Room with your friend. Tap the Share button to send the link to their contact, the Tweet button to share the link with your Twitter followers, or select Copy Link to paste it in the text field of your chat with a friend—whether via SMS, WhatsApp, or any social media app with a messaging function.

Please note that your friend will not be able to join the Room until they join Clubhouse. When they open the link you’ve sent them, they’ll see a call-to-action to download the app on the App Store or on Google Play.

When you choose to invite someone by sending them a link, a text message will be created for you to send, which you can preview before sending. You can personalize the message or simply send it as it is. They’ll have to download the app and create a profile first.

Linda Cheek, MDFirst and foremost, share this post with all of your friends. Recommend that they get on Clubhouse and follow me.  My profile is Linda Cheek and my picture should be recognizable from Facebook or my websites. This also gives them the link to my Instagram page with the links to all of my websites.

My Plan

I hope to share with people worldwide the REAL cause of drug abuse, and stop the propaganda that the drugs themselves lead to abuse. Until this knowledge is spread, the propaganda being used by governments around the world will bring about the end of opioid use. Meanwhile, because the real cause of abuse and addiction is not being addressed, it is increasing exponentially. And that increase will continue to be blamed on the drugs if we don’t spread the truth.  So if you are reading this post and do not join me on Clubhouse and invite all of your friends, you are part of the problem, not the solution.

So again, the links to join Clubhouse on your phone and be ready for my next meeting are:

  1. IPhone: iPhone App Store
  2. Android:  the Play Store

The next scheduled room will be Tuesday, November 8 at 9PM ET.  Be sure and join and connect with me by following me.
